Visiting The Heart Of The Tao:
Monastery Of Self-Mastery

Guidelines For Visiting The Monastery

The Heart Of The Tao: Monastery Of Self Mastery is a place that is accessible to all.

During the day the Monks and Residents have a strict training and work schedule that they must follow.

There are certain times and days that allow for members of the general public to visit and participate in the various Services that the Monastery offers.

See the Daily Training Regimen Page for more details.

With regards to visiting the Monastery at these times we would like to ensure that you are aware of a few essential points and code of conduct.

This is a Monastery, a place for cultivating Body, Mind & Spirit.

We ask that while visiting the Monastery you maintain a level of awareness that promotes compassion, peace and quiet and the understanding that a Monastery exits for people to remove destructive influences from their life, in order that they may have a safe, secure and disciplined environment in which they can focus on their own personal cultivation.

Please leave any negativity at the gate as best you are possibly able.

The Monastery is not to be used as a place to simply 'hang out' or 'catch up' with friends.

The Monks and Residents must follow strict rules for the purpose of their own cultivation so we ask that you too take into account these rules and do your utmost to follow them.

Thank You For Your Compassionate Understanding
