Tao Wu Shin Warrior Monk Apprenticeship

Taoist Monk Training available through The Heart Of The Tao: Monastery Of Self Mastery's Tao Wu Shin Warrior Monk Apprenticeship is the most intense and the most demanding Physical, Mental and Spiritual discipline provided by the Monastery.

This Apprenticeship is only suited to sincere students who have the absolute need to realise the truth regarding the essential nature of themselves and of all things in the cosmos; the path of Spiritual Enlightenment.

A Master is someone who has walked this path before you and can provide guidance in the correct way to realise Enlightenment through Tao Wu Shin Kung Fu discipline.

By becoming an Apprentice of this type you are entering into an agreement between yourself and your Master that you will both dedicate time and energy to the study and practises necessary to achieve your goal, the goal of realising Enlightenment and attaining Self-Mastery.

The Master will take you by the hand for as long as is necessary for you to achieve your goal.

Once fully realized you may walk away from your Master with personal confidence, Spiritual understanding and most importantly with the Heart of Enlightened Wisdom.

Tao Wu Shin Kung Fu involves many forms of Physical, Mental and Spiritual discipline – all of which must be practised in order to develop a holistic way of life that is correctly balanced.

There are two sets of vows, the first are mandatory and the second are optional.

Any potential Apprentice should deeply consider both the Mandatory Vows and their own Personal Vows before finally agreeing to undergo Ordination as a Tao Wu Shin Kung Fu Warrior Monk Apprentice - the Universe truly does have a way of binding our Spirits into such contracts and to flippantly violate taken vows can cause intense disturbances in the mind of the practitioner; people have been known to go completely insane.

It is the Masters job to do everything they possibly can to test the sincerity of your desire to be Ordained so as to fully ensure that the path you think you want is in fact the correct path for you.

All potential Apprentices are required to complete an initial six months training period before Ordination to fully ensure that the path of a Tao Wu Shin Kung Fu Warrior Monk is suited to them.

This type of Apprenticeship encompasses all four years of discipline outlined in the Apprenticeship Curriculum.

Vows by which a Tao Wu Shin Kung Fu Warrior Monk Apprentice must be prepared to live

Apprentices’ Mandatory Vows

I must always remember that every day, in every way it is my aim to realize Spiritual Enlightenment.

I dedicate my life to the discipline of Tao Wu Shin Kung Fu and I will do everything necessary to ensure the survival of my tradition, my school and my brothers and sisters in-training.

I will never intentionally deceive or dishonour my Master or ‘my brothers and sisters in-training’ and I will never do anything to cause them misfortune or to put them in harms way.

I will wear my sash with pride and honour, remembering that I am a ‘warrior in-training’ and I will conduct myself in a way that is respectful, peaceful and positive as best I am able in any and all circumstances.

I will practise my disciplines sincerely and honestly every day that I possibly can.

I will communicate with my Master about any fears, worries or concerns that plague my mind until the day that I am able to resolve them within myself.

I will do everything in my ability to end all forms of suffering for the beings that I encounter in my daily life, where and whenever physically possible.

I will do no intentional harm to myself or another and I will only ever use my Kung Fu skills in self-defence or to defend those who are unable to defend themselves.

Only once I achieve my goal of crystallising a still mind will I be free to walk through the world as a true Master of Self.

I understand that achieving my goal will take a minimum of 5 years intense study and effort, however I am committed to this way of life for as long as it takes.

Apprentice’s Personal Vows

All that I have spoken aloud here today, I vow to abide by until Mastery or Death, whichever comes first.

Vows of the Master

All that this, my new Apprentice has vowed, I too have vowed to live by.

As a living example I embody stillness, strength, courage, honour, virtue and good conduct so that my Apprentice may know a true path toward crystallising the Heart of Enlightened Wisdom.

At no time shall I turn my back on my Apprentice until the day they violate their vows, the day they die or the day they truthfully attain their goal.

I will protect, encourage and support my Apprentice for the duration of their study, honouring their health, safety and their entitlement to training above any and all others.

Only under circumstance of death, or of my Apprentices failure to abide by what they have vowed here today will our arrangement be made void.

From this moment on, it is so…
